Christmas Stollen

I like to try something new at Christmas.  This year I decided to try stollen.  I have never made it and when I was at brother Ron and sister in law Mina's place this last week, Katie made stollen. They make it every year.
I got their recipe and adapted it a bit to make it more like raisin bread with lots of other stuff in it.
I had almonds, dried fruit etc.

I think it turned out well, considering Eric and I ate almost one loaf between us for supper.

Christmas baking

These last few weeks I have done some Christmas baking.
One day Sophie and Peyton decorated the oatmeal cookies with smarties and sprinkles. Most went on the cookies!!  Scarlet was put into the sink.

Another day Aaron and Elise tried to help make meat buns.

Celebrate Family

We had a good weekend with night out with kids.

Three active boys get a ride with Popa on a sprayer as their field trip for a bit, gives Nana a break in the morning. Twins - Joel and Jordan and Peyton.

Scarlet is starting to be fuzzy with the choice of baby food.

This last month we have had some nice weather to enjoy the outdoors

4 or more inches yesterday. Seems to be a regular weekly event recently of snowfall.

Last night it started snowing and this morning still coming down. Very pretty. Roads are icy and snow covered.
Janice was happy as many rural school divisons closed because of icy roads.

Eric started shoveling the driveway, lots of snow. Must be the most at one time all winter.
